FAQ Pick & Paint

No. This is not a ceramics workshop or a guided class. The idea is simply to come, explore, paint and enjoy the process in your own way and at your own rhythm.

Where does the experience take place?

Pick & Paint takes place only at my shop in Porto:  Rua de Oliveira Monteiro 483, 4050-444 Porto

How long does each session last?

Each session lasts 2 hours.

How does the booking work?

The booking fee is 15€ and is paid online when reserving your spot.
On the day of the activity, you can choose any available ceramic piece in the shop. If you choose a piece above 15€, you simply pay the difference at the end of the session.

What ceramic pieces will be available?

There will be a selection of ceramic pieces available in the shop on the day of the activity, including plates, bowls, cups and more. Prices range from 15€ to 50€, depending on the piece and available stock.
All pieces are limited to existing stock.

Can I choose a piece above 15€?

Yes. If you choose a piece that costs more than 15€, you simply pay the difference at the end of the session.

Can I paint more than one piece?

Yes. You are welcome to paint more than one piece during your session, depending on the available time and stock. Any extra pieces will be paid separately at the end.

What is included in the experience?

The experience includes:

• your 2h session
• use of all painting materials
• glazing and kiln firing of your piece after the session

Do I need previous experience?

Not at all. You don’t need to know how to paint or have any ceramics experience.
This experience is for everyone.

Will someone teach me how to paint?

I’ll be there during the session if you need help or have questions, but this is not a guided class with step-by-step teaching.

What happens to my piece after the session?

At the end of the session, your piece stays with us so we can glaze and kiln-fire it properly. Once it’s ready, we’ll contact you by email or SMS so you can come pick it up.

Can something happen to my piece during firing?

Ceramics can sometimes behave unpredictably during glazing and kiln firing. Although we do everything carefully and with professional materials, small defects, cracks or breakages may occasionally happen during the process.

If anything unexpected happens to your piece, we will contact you directly and do our best to find the best possible solution.

Can you ship my finished piece?

Yes. If you prefer, we can ship your finished piece to your address. Shipping within mainland Portugal costs 8€ per piece.

How long will it take for my piece to be ready?

Usually between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on the kiln schedule and production timings.

Can children participate?

This experience is not designed for children, but they are welcome if accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the activity.

Can I come alone?

Of course. You can come alone, with friends, with your partner or with anyone you’d like to spend a creative afternoon with.

How many spots are available?

Each session is limited to 6 people.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Bookings are non-refundable and valid only for the selected session date and time.

What happens if I arrive late?

Please try to arrive on time so you can enjoy the full experience. Unfortunately, sessions cannot be extended for late arrivals.

Can I take photos during the experience?

Feel free to take photos and videos during the session, just be mindful of the other participants.

Will all pieces look exactly like the final result after firing?

Not exactly. Colors and finishes can change slightly after glazing and kiln firing, and that’s part of the nature of ceramics.
